World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase an item's gear score up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and PvP damage. They also have a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage that an upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of their base. While this is usually beneficial, it can have some negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are very lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to improve their stats. In the case of chests or helms this will increase its defense base while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain when upgraded, along with their relative values. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button with circling arrows in the menu for items. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make huge differences in your ability to endure. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult terrains. Generally speaking, the more defense your character is, the more value you can get from each point of health, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as possible.
To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock each one you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a lot of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your comrades.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to work on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to sneak around some monsters.
item upgrades are liquids that when consumed by a participant, produce a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the upgrade price changes depending on what kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. upgrade item will open a GUI where you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
There were a few changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. For example splash potions now have a duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display). The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion in an empty cauldron. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, like the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to a small ornament or object that has a purpose but is not important, like a trinket. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items which can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
The upgrade of a trinket can be an economical alternative to buying a new one. One can upgrade a trinket with as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as the old one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries and then other items of gear will not be replaced in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade, players must also be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.
After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1percent bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
